Graham "Gray" Strickland, AIF®

Graham “Gray” Strickland began early in the financial services business: roaming the halls of his mom’s advisory office in downtown Dallas.

A second-generation advisor, he followed in his mom’s footsteps and entered the family business in 2002.  Taking over the successful practice his mom and stepfather built together for over 20 years, Gray expanded the practice to include a specialty focus on small businesses while continuing the tradition of comprehensive, individualized financial and retirement planning.

Gray graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations with a minor in Business Finance.  He holds the Series 7, Series 66 and Group 1 Life and Health licenses. Additionally, he earned the AIF® Designation. Attainment of the AIF Designation demonstrates understanding of the Prudent Practices® and methodology.

Gray’s passion, and how he truly gives back to his community is through his volunteer work with Scouting.  Gray joined a troop at 11 and earned the Rank of Eagle Scout, placing him among the top 2% of young people in the program: a fraternity that includes the likes of Neil Armstrong – astronaut/first man on the moon; William Devries – M.D., who transplanted the first artificial heart; Gerald Ford – 38th President; and H. Ross Perot – self-made millionaire.

Involved in Scouting for over 30 years, he has served in many different volunteer roles, at the Unit, District and Council, Gray is the immediate past Vice President of Program on the Executive Board of the Longhorn Council BSA and still serves as a member of the Board.

Additionally, he gives of his time teaching Wood Badge, a leadership development course focused on team development, personal goal setting and evaluation, conflict management and team-based project planning.

He has been to Philmont Scout Ranch multiple times and served as Course Director for a backcountry Wood Badge course there in 2016.  Gray includes this as part of his life’s work because he feels it is one of the best ways to help train young people to be better spouses, parents and leaders in their community and abroad.

Gray loves backpacking, fishing and shooting in his spare time.  He also continues a love of building custom cars he got from his father and grandfather.

Gray is married to Corie, his sweetheart of 24 years, and they live in Keller, Texas, with their two children: Gavin and Rebecca.  They are members of Good Shepherd Catholic Community.

Gray enters every relationship with one simple goal: make a positive impact, not just an impression, on those he gets the opportunity to serve.
